When you’re trying to lose weight it’s extremely important to be aware of everything you are putting in your body. While cooking at home might prove to be a challenge right now, it doesn’t have to remain that way! All you have to do is take out your crockpot and you will be able to make a ton of different recipes that you can lose weight with.

1. Black Bean Chili Recipe


– 4 cans black beans
– 1 tbsp. olive oil
– 1/4 cup mustard seeds
– 1.5 tbsp. chili powder
– 2 chopped red onion
– 1 pound sliced mushrooms
– 1/4 cup water
– 5 cups vegetable broth
– 6 oz. can tomato paste
– 1 tablespoon minced chipotle peppers
– 1.5 cups grated cheese (your choice)
– 1/2 cup low fat sour cream

Start out by draining your beans and then putting them into your crockpot with the rest of the ingredients (except cheese and sour cream). Cook this on low for around 5 hours or until the soup is hot and everything is soft. When finished, sprinkle each bowl with cheese and top with sour cream before enjoying it!

This is a low-calorie recipe that can feed you for a few nights without losing any flavor. It’s packed full of flavor and you can add in vegetables if you want some more ingredients inside of it.

2. Beef and Onion Brisket Recipe


– 6 minced garlic cloves
– 1.5 tbsp. olive oil
– 5 lb. beef brisket
– 1 tsp. dried thyme
– 1 tsp. onion powder
– 6 oz. tomato paste
– 2 cups beef broth
– 1 tsp. salt
– 2 tbsp. softened salted butter
– 2 tbsp. flour
– 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
– 6 onions sliced

Start by cutting the brisket into a few pieces so that they will fit into your slow cooker. After this, put 1 tbsp. olive oil into the slow cooker and turn it on medium. Place the brisket inside and then add in the rest of your oil followed by the onions. From here, add in the garlic, thyme and a dash of pepper. Then you can add in the tomato paste, beef broth and salt. Put this on high and once it has boiled, turn it on low and leave on for 8 to 10 hours.

This should turn out nice and soft so that you can slice up the brisket to serve as you would like! Make a gravy with the butter, flour, gravy from the meat and Worcestershire sauce. Once this is finished, serve it over the meat and enjoy this low-calorie dinner with a nice side salad.

Either of these slow cooker recipes works great for a night when you just don’t have a lot of time to cook. You can put all ingredients in and let it cook while you’re running errands or working, so there’s no reason you can’t eat healthy. If you want to make your own recipe, all you have to have is vegetables, a protein, and a broth to make it! There are tons of recipes online you can make or you can create your own.

Just make sure to count calories for each recipe so you know how many are there in total and how much you can have. Since you’re not frying anything or putting it in breading, any recipe you make should be great for weight loss.
